Power BI and business intelligence

Who should learn how to use Power BI?

Le CFO masqué’s business intelligence training courses are for analysts and controllers who need to analyze large quantities of information and present relevant performance indicators and powerful data visualizations.

Why take a Power BI training course?

Management analysts and controllers must regularly produce reports and dashboards. The main challenge lies in the fact that data sources are often scattered across different systems, so first and foremost, a process must be put in place to import this data, clean it up and make it talk to each other. Then you need to develop the business reflexes needed to study them and propose analysis that will really enable managers to seize opportunities and quickly identify problems before they get out of hand. All this often becomes very difficult to manage, using Excel alone. This is when analysts turn to self-service business intelligence tools and solutions, such as Power BI.

To really improve decision-making, analyses must be based on high-quality, complete, accurate and timely data. To achieve this, 3 key skills need to be developed:

  • Master the concepts of importation, transformation,  query creation and M language
  • Master the concepts of modeling and DAX language (Data Analysis Expressions)
  • Master the concepts of creating key performance indicators and relevant visuals

Ultimately, it’s all about building automated reports and tables, which are no longer limited to simply analyzing company data, but also serve to relate it to external data, to better contextualize it and highlight threats and opportunities.

Targeted skills: What skills will you develop with our Power BI training courses?

A large proportion of the Le CFO masqué’s classes concerns the creation of reports in the Power BI Desktop application, i.e. importing and transforming data, creating templates, creating analytical expressions in DAX language and creating the various analysis pages.

Another part of the course concerns the art of creating powerful and convincing visualizations. We explain the difference between a report and a table, how to define appropriate performance indicators according to the situation, and the art of data storytelling.

A training session will enable you to explore the Service, i.e. the Power BI web portal where analysis and tables will be published and shared, as well as the mobile application that will be used to consume the various applications via a tablet or phone.

Finally, another part of Le CFO masqué’s Power BI courses lets you explore more advanced options, such as creating functions in M language, Web Scraping, Big Data, using the R language and even using this solution in conjunction with Power Apps and Power Automate, to further automate your dashboards, among other things, and deepen your analyses.
